PJ Harvey - Dry (Demonstration)

OK I've jumped forward a few years here, and I know this would not come under the normal music posted of Punk and New Wave.

But in my opinion this album is a classic. I can remember hearing "Sheela-Na-Gig"(if you have not heard this, you will love it) on the John Peel Show. As soon as the album "Dry" came out (June 30th 1992) I took the morning of work to make sure I got the limited edition vinyl with the extra LP (I luckily got a copy - number 4093 - see the sticker). This was a demo (acoustic) version of the main album and is what I am posting. This is apparently very rare, and I don't believe it has ever been released again.

So here it is just for you, tell me what you think.

One word of warning, like a few of PJ Harvey albums they appear to be recorded at a low level, so you have to crank up the volume.

Band: P J Harvey
Label: Too Pure
Year: 1992
Tracks:
Side A
1. Oh My Lover
2. O Stella
3. Dress
4. Victory
5. Happy and Bleeding

Side B
1.Sheela-Na-Gig
2. Hair
3. Joe
4. Plants and Rags
5.Fountain
6. Water

Ripped from glorious pretty good condition vinyl:

If you like this and haven't already got the main album "Dry" then go and buy it now:

I bought the LP of her latest album White Chalk at the start of this year, having heard it via the internet the previous month. Really good music (this and that album), but I still think I prefer her piano stuff to her guitar stuff.

The 7" singles for White Chalk, come with demo b-sides from 1988 as well which are pretty cool.

Congratulations on getting the limited edition! I didn't know she used to be on Too Pure - I stumbled across a promo 7" vinyl of theirs recently: http://hardcorefornerds.blogspot.com/2008/03/shooting-at-unarmed-men-girls-music.html

cheers,
Gabba

Thanks for the link, I will give it a try.

Hi Justin thanks for the comment and glad to help. I don't know why they have never reissued this,I would still buy a copy on CD.
