Suzi Pinns - Rule Britannia

Another classic track from the Jubilee soundtrack. Suzi Pinns (aka Jordan) covering the British patriotic song 'Rule Britannia' and a well know hymn 'Jerusalem' in a opera/punk style. It's very different but has always been one of my favourites, and has me singing along in a high pitch voice which I'm sure sounds v bad.

This version whilst same as the album is from the single which was released in 1978.

Jordan must be one of the most well know faces in punk, through 1977 she was in every tabloid or magazine that was published. She was also infamous for being known as the woman who carved 'Fuck' on Adam Ants back with a razor blade.

Band: Suzi Pinns
Label: Polydor
Year: 1978
Tracks:
1. Rule Britannia
2. Jerusalem

Ripped from glorious scratched vinyl:

If you like this then buy the excellent soundtrack to the film, both sides of this single are on it.

and if you haven't seen the film, try this (be warned it isn't for everyone)

Hmm, I'll have to check out 'Jubilee' again. Keep meaning to. Haven't seen it for many years and didn't like it then. Time to give it another shot.

It's not Jordan actually singing, of course, but with an image like that she'd be my fist choice to mime just about anything. The new Adele single maybe.

Hi Steve, it's not an easy film to like I must admit.

I didn't know (but should of guessed) that its not Jordan singing. Thanks for that. I never know whether to update the post, or just let people read the comments. What do you think?

It is a mystery who Suzi Pinns actually is.

I'm not sure it was Jordan who sang the Suzi Pinns songs. Did she have operatic training? Because the voice on those songs had formal training.

Hi Joeseph, its defintely not Jordon singing, she is just miming. No idea who the real singer is, but its great.

Thanks for the comment.
