Hi everyone, back again, I've been too busy the last month and had zero opportunity to do anything on ASFM,but it's nearly the Xmas holidays so normal service should be resumed.
Back to good old 7" vinyl singles, and this one's a decent cover of the Animal's classic "We've Gotta Get Out Of This Place" from "Wild Willy Barrett" who is better known for his partnership with "John Otway". The b-side is a nice bit of blues guitar, unsurprisingly named "Barrettt's Blues". Barrett and Otway have produced a fair back catalogue of music which is unknown to most people, so hopefully this post will encourage you to try the excellent Anthology you can find at the link below. The b-sides not on it, so for the completest, no need to worry.
Artist: Wild Willy Barrett
Year: 1981
Label: Black Eye Records
Tracks:
1. We've Gotta Get Out Of This Place
2. Barrett's Blues
Ripped from glorious (very) scratched vinyl
As mentioned above if you like this then you can buy the excellent Anthology of Barrett (and some Otway) stuff covering 30 years, plus lots more on the same site here:
