The Poles - C.N.Tower

'The Poles' were from Toronto and the a-side title track gives a clue, with the C.N. Tower being the largest free standing building in the world and situated in, guess where? Toronto, Canada. This was their one and only single, released on Nimbus records in 1977.

For some reason this record had a good circulation in the UK, this donation came from the Bruce Rhodes collection, I guess directly from Canada, as my copy has an import sticker on the front (see scans). 'C.N. Tower' is the pick of the two for me, which is more punk than the b-side 'Prime Time'.

Bruce has also provided a link of 'The Poles' live footage, just follow the link.

So leave a comment and thank Bruce and tell us what you think of 'The Poles'?

Band: The Poles
Label: Nimbus
Year: 1977
Tracks:
1. C.N. Tower
2. Prime Time

Used to like this song a lot when it got airplay in T.O. back in the day. Can you dig up some Drastic Measures now?

Great blog. I haven't thought about The Poles in years. And Drastic Measures! For pure fun you might try to get your hands on the Wayouts self-titled e.p.

Thanks for the comments Harley and Mug. I also saw Killing Joke a few times, and I haven't played them for years, so its funny how much this has grown on me.
