Bit of punk fun with 'The Dickies' cover of the brilliant kids program 'Banana Splits' (I have to admit this was one of my favourite programs as a kid). As per usual with the Dickies approach, they have covered the song at a 100mph. Personally I prefer the original (I always wanted to drive one of those buggies that the Banana Splits drive around at the beginning of the show, if you don't know what I mean then
follow this link) and if you want to hear it then follow
the link over at the Twilight Zone.
The b-side has two tracks which are OK, again recorded at 100mph.
You can see these crazy guys also released the single in Yellow vinyl.
OK, OK I admit I only posted this because I loved the program and wanted to talk about. It's a fair cop.

Hello
All singles with Dickies is fun...:-D
Do you know that one of them was in a group in the early-70s that was playing songs like early Pink Floyd, at least one LP exist.
Best wishes from Sweden
There used to be some confusion that Stan Lee from the Dickies was Stan Lee that played in the hard rock group from Alabama called "Felt", but, um, that is not true. Nor is he the Stan Lee who created the Hulk, Thor or Fantastic Four. But Stan Lee from the Dickies IS the guy that sold drugs to Iggy Pop in the early '70s, eventually getting Iggy's Raw Power tiger jacket! I freakin' loved the Dickies, they were the Monkees to the Weirdos Beatles!
Yes, I love this single and my kids love it to and "Got It At The Store".
Cheers!
Hey Longy, I thought you just loved it so much you wanted to tell everyone.
Hi Arstide, is that Syd Barrett Pink Floyd?
Do you have this album as well?
Is it any good?
I like some of Syd's early stuff (Arnold Layne, etc)
Hey Fred, being a comic fan I knew it wasn't Stan Lee from the comics, but have never heard of the other confusion before.
Hey HDVNS, this is impossible for anyone not to like. If you do meet someone that doesn't my advice is avoid them.
the dickies are on one the devil's fave early us punk bands!
aint heard this one in years!
i had a live version on RIOR cassette back in the day....
Cheers Devil Dick, glad to bring back some momories
I wanted to drive one of those buggies, too...good stuff.
Hi Anon, do you know the military defense organizations trialled them, but they weren't as good as they looked. You can imagine soldiers burning around in those little buggies.
