Pylon - Cool

Another gem from Bruce Rhodes, and your gonna like this one. Its the debut single from 'Pylon' called 'Cool'. From Athens Georgia they had an impressive list of supporters including the B-52's and REM.

'Cool' is the stand out track and was released in 1979 on Caution Records. Pylon have a quirky style which reminds me of the 'Gang Of Four' which is clearly no bad thing. Interestingly they actually opened for Gang of Four in New York.

So try it out and leave a comment and tell ASFM what you think of this one.

Band: Pylon
Label: Caution
Year: 1979
Tracks:
1. Cool
2. Dub

Ripped from Bruce's glorious scratched vinyl

If you like this then your in luck as you can still get their debut album here:

Cheers Gary and Bruce. I see what you mean about Gang Of Four especially that guitaring on the B side. The A side reminds me of something else but I can't put my finger on it. Great bassline on it too. Nice one mate.

First heard him on a Greensleeves DJ's sampler, doing "Mi God Mi King" and was smitten. Often wondered why he didnt go onto bigger things.?

Cheers guys
