I think this gold flexi disc was used to promote the Japanese band 'Plastics' third album 'Welcome Back' (I can't remember how this one got in my collection, I have some vague memory of picking it up for free) Both tracks are very catchy, it has a kind of jerky, power pop, new wave sound, which could be the B-52's (which is no bad thing). Playing this again has reminded me of them and I'm now on the search for their earlier albums and singles, it doesn't look like you can buy them anymore (if you can point me in the right direction, if not has anyone got them).
Not sure whose idea was but this was released on Island records
as NIP 1 (most probably not viewed as politically correct today).
So give it a try and leave a comment and tell ASFm what you think of 'Plastics'
Band: Plastics
Label: Island
Year: 1981
Tracks:
1. Diamond Head
2. Peace
Ripped from glorious scratched flexi disc:
If you like this the only album I am aware of that was released in the UK is welcome back which if you follow the link you will see it is going for the extortionate value of £52 (rip off)

Good stuff Gary. Definately sounds B52ish I agree.
