Graham Parkers second single, released on Vertigo in 1978. Parker was around since 1975 but really gained recognition as the pub and punk rock scene grew from 1977 onwards. Often favourably compared with Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson. If you listen to the excellent a-side 'Hey Lord Don't Ask Me Questions' you will see why, a reggae/new wave sound which Costello also had success with.'Hey Lord' is definitely the stand-out track, the b-side is a little bit slower, but does grow on you.

Hi Robert I was never a big Parker fan (only because like you I never really gave him a chance) but I did like this single.
His new album has a great track album Pete Doherty, which I really like.
