Spizzenergi - The Custard Channel

This appears to be a bit of a rare one, and it's a real mixed bag if your looking for classic Spizz stuff. Under the name of Spizzenergi (1996-1998 incarnation), it also includes the "Lifestyle project" which was originally released as an EP with tracks from Claudia Brucken (front lady to Synthpop band Propaganda) and Spizz, three tracks from Spizzvision (1989), one from Spizzenergi 3 (1991) and three already released tracks from Athletic Spizz 80.

The Custard Channel is a worth having just for three re-recordings in 1996 for GLR sessions of the classic Spizz singles Central Park, Where's Captain Kirk? and No Room, and the cover of Kraftwerks classic "The Model".

The Lifestyle project and Spizz vision stuff really moves away from the sound you'd normally expect to hear from Spizz (more commercial in my opinion), plus two football songs, one for England the Spizzenergi 1998 world cup song "E for England" (unofficial I'm sure) plus his homage to Aston Villa.

The stand out tracks for me is the new version of "Where's Captain Kirk?", faithful but just different enough to want to hear both and their excellent cover of "The Model". What do you think? Leave a comment and let us know.

As usual high resolution scans included so you can read the details
